WHAT MAKES SAFETY JUMPER CABLES UNIQUE?

Is your solution to a dead battery in your vehicle a “jump box”? Let me ask you this simple question, when was the last time you charged your jump box? A jump box may seem like the solution to the problem, but 90 percent of the time jump boxes don’t work. Jump boxes have a small 12 volt battery in them that must be routinely charged for them to work properly. There are thousands of independent tests showing that the small battery does not have the power that they claim to output. Just like the battery in your car, heat destroys the battery. So leaving it in your vehicle where the internal temperature can get over 140 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer damages the battery. Battery chemistry also slows down as it gets colder outside, this results in a loss of power. Batteries are designed to work best at 72 degrees. At 32 degrees, a car battery only has 50% of its capacity compared to 72 degrees. The same is true for your jump box. As the temperature falls below freezing, the capacity declines even more. More car batteries fail in cold weather conditions than any other time of the year. So chances are good that it's going to be cold outside when your car battery fails. Why rely on a technology that loses performance when you need it most!
THE STORY BEHIND SAFETY JUMPER CABLES
The old saying "Necessity is the mother of invention" is absolutely true!
My son lives in Denver and one cold winter night he was being a "good samaritan" and helping a co-worker "jump start" his vehicle. After doing everything properly and getting the vehicle with the dead battery running he started his journey home. On the way, he noticed that his car was not running properly. The engine was running very rough and the instruments on his dash were acting crazy. His headlights were dimming and sometimes going completely off for a couple of seconds. Fortunately he made it home safe that night. Next morning he came out to start his car. It would "turn over" but would not start. He had it towed to the dealer for diagnosis. After the mechanic ran a series of tests, they asked him if he had recently jump started his car. He answered no, but told them that last evening he had jump started a friends car. They informed him that a voltage surge had damaged one or more of the ECU's or possibly the CAN network. The only way to try to fix the problem was to replace each ECU and that might not fix it. If the CAN bus wiring was damaged, it would require a new wire harness. They gave an estimate of $3500 to try to fix it with no guarantee that they could. His car was now "totaled".
When he told me about the event, I decided to purchase a special set of jumper cables to send him so this would not happen again. After searching the internet for days, there just wasn’t anything on the market. So, I decided to design and build a set of jumper cables that was safe and easy to use……….and now you know the rest of the story!
